Large Rose Quartz Crystal

The Rose Quartz, a silicon dioxide crystal, is one of the most common members of the Quartz family. It can be found in large forms, without faces or edges, all over the world.

Its color varies from very pale pink to deep reddish-pink, and is very stable, not liable to fade with heat or direct sunlight.

The distinction between Rose Quartz and Pink Quartz was only clarified in the 1990’s when it was discovered that Rose Quartz existed in the massive or large form only while Pink Quartz existed as clusters of small prismatic crystals.

Practical Uses
Throughout history, this crystal has been revered for its beautifying powers. It was used for facial masks in ancient Egypt and Rome to clear the complexion and prevent wrinkles.

It is used as an elixir to sooth burns and blisters, clear and soften the skin, reduce wrinkles, and to diminish the appearance of scars.
It was also a stone honored by the Tibetan and Oriental cultures, and continues to be one of the major carving stones of China.
